About José Francis
FOUNDER-MANAGING DIRECTOR
José Solange Francis is the Founder and Managing Director of Hamilcar Africa Funds.
José is an investment professional with over 25 years’ extensive experience in Investment Banking and Asset Management. He has been instrumental in the development of a solid network of investors (institutions, family offices, private qualified individuals) and corporate partners.
José gained expertise by working between London and Paris, at Paribas Asset Management, Natixis, Société Générale, GFI Group and Integra Capital. He occupied different roles such as a Trader, Fund Manager and Sales on Equity and Derivatives in Europe and Emerging markets. He has been active in identifying attractive investment opportunities in distressed assets, restructuring, M&A situations and managing portfolios of derivative instruments.
José holds a Master’s Degree in Finance (ISG Business School, Paris) and a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics (University of Toulouse, France).
José is trilingual in English, French and Italian. He is currently learning Arabic.
